In a small saucepan, combine the glaze ingredients and heat to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes. The liquid should reduce by about half, and coat the back of a spoon.
Remove from heat to let cool. If not using right away, refrigerate until ready to serve.
To prepare the figs, heat the BBQ to about 400 F, or use a grill pan on medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill to prevent the figs from sticking.
Place the figs cut side down on the grill and let cook for about 5 minutes. The figs should have some nice grill marks without burning.
When the figs are done, place cut side up on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Drizzle the glaze over the figs and serve.
